BJP Manipur Holds Sit-in Protest, Takes Out Rally Against Congress

Описание: IMPHAL, July 22, 2026: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Manipur Pradesh, on Tuesday staged a sit-in protest at its state office at Nityaipat Chuthek, with Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand, several ministers, senior party leaders, and a large number of BJP workers participating in the demonstration.

Following the sit-in protest, BJP workers, led by party leaders and supporters, took out a rally through Paona Bazar towards the Congress Bhavan. As the procession reached the Congress party office, BJP and Congress workers engaged in a heated exchange of slogans in front of the Congress gate, creating a tense atmosphere. However, the situation remained under control, and no major untoward incident was reported.

Addressing the media after the protest, BJP Manipur Pradesh State Secretary Bikram Kongkham defended the Central Government's handling of the alleged NEET question paper leak case, stating that the Centre had already taken firm and decisive action against those responsible.

Bikram alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had hijacked the students' agitation for political mileage during the ongoing Parliament session. He criticized Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of making a mockery of Indian democracy and attempting to disrupt the proceedings of Parliament.

He further stated that, as informed in Parliament by Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, 13 accused in connection with the alleged NEET question paper leak had already been sent to jail. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made it clear that the government would take stringent action against anyone found exploiting the sentiments of students or compromising the integrity of public examinations.

The BJP leaders reiterated that the Central Government remains committed to ensuring transparency and fairness in competitive examinations while taking strict legal action against those responsible for examination-related irregularities.
