These are the two miniature parachutes I made this summer. Learning from my first canopy, I was able to really make these two parachutes perform.
The first is a seven cell based on the PD storm. it has an aspect ratio of 2.14 and an area of 19.25 square feet.
The second is a miniature of the NZ aerosports Petra. I saw • The Petra 69 Project: JYRO’s new HP canopy... and thought it would make a cool mini. It is a cross braced 7 cell canopy with a highly elliptical nose and a steep trim. It is 18 square feet and an aspect ratio of 2.56.
The containers are all new. The skydiving setup shown deploying its reserve is based loosely on the mirage containers with a fully enclosed reserve pilot chute. The Base system is based on the apex base summit container.
I am already planning new things for future projects! I am working with a friend to learn to machine custom metal parts for the new minis!
