𝗟𝗔𝗣𝗗 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣𝗦 𝗜𝗡: Police Monitor Homeless Camper as Crews Clear Parking Lot During Sweep

Описание: VENICE, CA — Friday, November 21, 2025 — A coordinated multi-agency cleanup operation moved through the public parking lot at Main Street and Rose Avenue on Friday morning as part of the City of Los Angeles’ ongoing efforts to maintain sanitation, safety, and accessibility in public spaces.

The operation was led by the Department of Public Works, working alongside Los Angeles Police officers, Clean Harbors Environmental Services, Environmental Compliance Inspectors (ECI), the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA), and a homeless coordinator from Councilwoman Traci Park’s office. The joint effort brought together sanitation teams, outreach workers, hazmat specialists, and law enforcement to address accumulated debris in the lot.

Advance cleanup notices had been posted ahead of the operation under Los Angeles Municipal Code §56.11, notifying individuals camping in the area that personal property exceeding 60 gallons could not remain in public pathways. Inspectors distributed 60-gallon bags and explained the regulations to those on scene. Individuals gathered their belongings and complied with instructions, allowing sanitation crews to begin clearing the site.

Environmental Compliance Inspectors and Clean Harbors personnel identified and removed hazardous materials, including batteries and aerosols, while Public Works crews followed with the removal of trash, bulky items, and other debris from the parking lot area.

Representatives from Councilwoman Traci Park’s office facilitated communication between agencies on scene, while LAHSA outreach workers distributed bottled water, food, hygiene kits, and offered connections to supportive housing and mental-health services.

No arrests or citations were issued.
