When you look at yourself in the mirror do you want to hide your calf? Do you want to hide the area of the calf by wearing such clothes that the calf is not visible? Do you want to wear dresses that show your legs? but you have been not able to do it because the calf is too thin. I will give you a very simple solution. It is a calf implant. You can see this patient's pre-op photos. She has very thin legs otherwise she is a very beautiful girl with a nice body figure but her legs are absolutely thin like chicken legs. No definition of this portion or it is not well defined.

Calf implants are made of silicone implants and they are much harder than breast implants. The surgery takes about one hour and after the surgery at least 3 to 4 days, we don't allow the patient to walk. You can see the surgery process where we make a small cut and through that. We place the implant in the inner side of the leg. Here there is a muscle called gastronomies, which has two parts. We fix the implant on the inner part. We push the implant above that. Implants come in various shapes. They may be flat on one end and convex on the other or convex on both sides. Both sides convex gives more projection. It depends on what the patient wants. The patient can be discharged the same day in the evening or the next day of the surgery.

Just be careful and avoid walking for the next 3 to 4 days. You have to walk with a walker to avoid leg movement. When we avoid this movement this muscle does not come into the activity. The muscle rests and the implant gets time to settle down. After 3 week patient can freely walk and can do athletic activities also because by then the implants are Settle. Till that time we give a tight compression. The compression has to be given on the calf region for at least 3 weeks. So that, when you walk the movement of the calf, is also reduced. This does not push the implant immediately. The implants need to create a position for themselves. Maximum 2 to 3 days for pain not even that much and results of the calf implant surgery are very good. Whatever the projection patient wants we are able to create projection on this side.

It is a very satisfactory surgery. 100% safe and secured, very good result. We find patients have a very high level of satisfaction with calf implants. If you feel that your leg is thin then a calf implant is better than fat. Why? because fat can not extend that much. We can't create much enhancement with that and we have to on operate some other part to take out the fat so pain is additional. 50 to 60% of fat will get absorbed. 7 to 8 days we don't allow you to walk at all. That means you might need to do another procedure of fat after some time. That is why we prefer calf implants over fat injections for calf enhancement.
