A recent report by Centrum Institutional Research estimates that Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea could increase mobile tariffs by 12–15% over the next 3–4 months. Meanwhile, Airtel has already discontinued several popular prepaid plans, including ₹299, ₹319, ₹579, ₹619, ₹649 and ₹799 plans.

According to TRAI's June 2026 data, Jio and Airtel together control more than 77% of India's mobile subscriber market. Vodafone Idea and BSNL remain significantly behind.
