Mr. Halcom Tariang was born on the 9th of April 1957 and lives in Mission Compound, Mawkhar. He retired from his station at PWD on the 15th of May, 2015. He began his musical career in 1972 with the band ‘New Era’ and after a few years went on to join another band called ‘Blood and Thunder’. When the band disbanded , he went on to become the front-man of a popular local band called ‘King Apple’, one of the first major rock bands in Shillong managed by Bari Khonglah. Mr. Halcom dedicates his performance in every gig to the band members of ‘King Apple’ who have passed on.
