What is Narrowband in Astrophotography and Why is it Important?

Narrowband astrophotography involves using a monochrome camera along with special filters which allow only a precise frequency of light to pass through to reach the sensor of the camera. But what is the importance of using Sulfur2, Hydrogen-alpha, and Oxygen3 filters? Watch and see. My test object was the Rosette nebula with several images of it at the end of this video.
