Описание: The gambit paid off. As the elevator began to move, a figure slipped in from above, hoping to add another life to their tally. The investigator was prepared, and easily subdued the assailant. A disgruntled ex-elevator operator, left jobless after being made redundant, sought to leave their automatic replacement empty from fear. In learning of the killer's last employer, a lead was found on the missing head of a wealthy household: They discreetly owned a hotel several cities over. Unfortunately, their investigation would find a brand new wrinkle. Upon reaching the penthouse, they found their suspect incapacitated by a shadowy figure that proceeded to run through the wall, defying physics and gravity. They'd held onto a resource they hoped they'd never need. But a good detective embraces all tools at their disposal, so as they got the suspect carried to a hospital, they called a number nearly forgotten. A childhood friend. The "supernatural freak."

Few pleasantries were exchanged as nothing fascinated the investigator's childhood friend more than the unexplainable. A collection of eccentric tools were laid out in the penthouse, looking to find something to latch onto the shade. The occult detective knew how to follow up on more familiar elements of the supernatural, ever curious to learn more, but they also knew when their experience could take them no further. Their friend was always developing new ways of tracking and cataloguing the unknown, and it didn't take long for them to find a trail from the shade left behind. Following the readings wasn't easy, but there came points of focused and familiar readings that led them to a cliff face. The investigator placed some residue upon the rock and it split in two, revealing a metallic sheen that would guide the pair into the deepest shades of darkness.
