Train Cab Ride NL / Formula 1 Delays / Amersfoort - Amsterdam - The Hague / DDZ IC / August 2023

Описание: Hi everyone! Three weeks have flew by and it's time for a brand new video. First of all: thank you all so much for the big interest in my last ICNG video and thanks for sharing it with others! :D

Today we get to ride a DDZ! That hasn't happened since I started recording videos in 4K 60fps quality. I hope you like the setting. This time the camera is not fit to the window itself. Let me know what you think of it. Also we will be delayed on the route. You'll see why!

0:00 Amersfoort Centraal
We start the ride in Amersfoort. This train arrived here from the Groningen direction and is rerouted due to construction works. Normally this train runs via Almere to Amsterdam Zuid and further. Today we take the ride via Amsterdam Centraal with some extra stops in the Amsterdam and The Hague area as well.

We depart with just a small delay because that old locomotive on the right was crossing our path first. Our train is pretty long (about 280 meters). So when speed signs allow a higher speed it takes a while before we are allowed to speed up because the whole train must have passed the sign first.

Arriving in Hilversum with a minute delay. After that we can depart on schedule again.

Tracks from / to Almere are joining in here. After this we must slow down the train because there's a slightly delayed train ahead of us.

Unfortunately the delayed trains ahead can't drive on normal speed as well. Taking it easy with the speed again. As said: the train schedule has been changed due to construction works. And also the F1-races in Zandvoort are just finished. So it will be really busy in Amsterdam.

Waiting in front of a red light. There's a lot of train traffic going on at Amsterdam Centraal. Some it is delayed causing a bit a traffic jam. After a couple of minutes we can slowly enter the station.

As you can see it's really busy on the station. Thousands of F1 fans are going back home at the same time. Therefor sprinters are running every 5 minutes between Zandvoort and Amsterdam. You'll here a lot of communication going on at the station as well.

Because of the construction works and events going on we make an extra stop at Amsterdam Sloterdijk. Due to the wait in Amsterdam we are now ten minutes behind on schedule.

Arriving at the airport with a ten minute delay. Thanks to the train dispatcher we lost one minute delay since the departure from Sloterdijk. All green lights ahead at Schiphol so we can make a speedy arrival.

After Schiphol we must take it easy with the speed because there's a on time train ahead of us. Our delay is too big. So we must wait to prevent other trains from becoming delayed as well.

Extra stop at Hoofddorp as well. After this we can continue on full speed towards Leiden.

At this point you can also see the high speed line starting on the left.

Time to shut down the high voltage systems on board because there are no wires available at the bridge. The pantograph stays in the up position and will reach its highest reaching point just before the end of the wires. On the other side it slides under the wires again and power can be set back to the train when it has fully passed the bridge.

On the right side you can see the tracks coming from Haarlem joining in.

The train dispatcher already gave us green lights at Leiden so we can make a quick approach. At the start of the platform I warn the waiting passengers for the speedy arrival by sounding the horn shortly.

On departure from Leiden I could've shown you a train race. But getting back on schedule had a higher priority of course. At our next stop you'll see the other train again.

Arrival at our final stop with a seven minute delay.
