In this video, I talk about X’s journey from animation to Walt Disney personally asking him to join what would become Walt Disney Imagineering, where X went on to write scripts and lyrics for classic Disney attractions and songs that are still enjoyed today. The dialogue he wrote for attractions such as the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean and the lyrics for songs such as Yo Ho (A Pirates Life for Me) and Grim Grinning Ghosts have truly stood the test of time.

At the end of the video, I share a short rare audio clip from a personal conversation I had with Xavier Atencio, where you will HEAR X yourself, offering a brief but meaningful glimpse of his voice and personality.

After a successful career in Disney animation, X Atencio’s move to Imagineering helped define the storytelling style of Disneyland attractions, blending humor, heart, and narrative in a way that still influences Imagineering today. This video is a short tribute to one of Disney’s most important creative voices.
