Описание: Welcome aboard my second flight as I continue to fine-tune my recording setup and simulator functions.

Today’s journey is a short hop along Kenya’s stunning coastline — from Ukunda (often referred to as Diani) to Moi International Airport in Mombasa (HKMO). By road, this trip can take anywhere from 90 minutes to 4 hours, depending on traffic, ferry delays, and the single main road connecting Mombasa Island to Ukunda, which sits just inland from Diani Beach. As we Kenyans often do, we lump the two together, so Ukunda is simply known as Diani.

I’m flying the Cessna 172P in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, using a full hardware setup: yoke, throttle, rudder pedals, and the Oculus Quest 3 for a fully immersive cockpit experience. The footage you see is recorded directly from my VR goggles, so wherever I look, that’s what you see.

Since VR limits my ability to read charts or adjust cockpit controls like radios and autopilot switches, I rely on my mouse to assist. I’m currently learning to operate the Mode Control Panel (MCP) blind while fully immersed in VR, so my flight will be smother as we go along

For this flight, I opted out of real-world weather to ensure clear skies and smooth visibility throughout the route.
