This Bike Path Ends at the Location of a Korean War Battlefield 🇰🇷 DMZ Bike Path Day 6

Hello everyone! In this video I continue the Pyeonghwa Nuri Bike Path (평화누리자전거길) which follows the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) between South and North Korea. I start today’s ride in Jeongok-eub (전곡읍), a little town about 55 km North of Seoul, and I tried to camp there the previous night, but ended up having to book a motel instead. The first 10 km or so of the ride was on the highway heading into Yeoncheon-eub (연천읍), one of the most beautiful small towns I’ve seen in Korea, which has a bit of history too, as one of the stops of the Gyeongwon Train Line (경원선) that went from Seoul to Wonsan, North Korea in the early to mid 1900s. After heading north of Yeoncheon, the scenery started to get really nice, and I passed by some more amazing villages surrounded by the mountains, and finally arrived at Baekmagoji (백마고지), the end of the Pyeonghwa Nuri Bike Path. I checked out the Baekmagoji Memorial (백마고지기념관) as well, which is a memorial of one the Battle of White Horse Hill (백마고지 전투), one of the most brutal battles of the Korean War. I then made a little summary at the end of what I think of the Pyeonghwa Nuri Bike Path, and give some recommendations on if I think it’s worth cycling or not. Enjoy!
