In this lecture, we're going to go over the pattern of how ions move in and out of the cell in a regular, repeating pattern - called the Action Potential. By the end of the lecture you should be able to answer the following:
1. What is meant by 'resting membrane potential'?
2. Label the action potential diagram appropriately, using the given terms: Polarized, Hyperpolarized, Depoloraization, Repolarization.
3. On the same diagram label the phases using the numbers 0-4.
4. Describe in detail the movement of ions in phase 0-4 of the depolarization.
5. What is a 'potassium rectifier channel'?
