This is a procedure which is performed when the embryos are already formed. The couple is counselled regarding how many and what is the quality of the embryos which are being transferred.
Embryo transfer technique is where a embryo is inserted in the uterine cavity with the help of a thin catheter. The embryo transfer can be fresh embryo transfer or frozen embryo transfer. After the embryo transfer one should take a lot of precautions –
1.Patient should be stress free and do not keep on thinking that the embryos have been transferred.She should relax and pamper herself.
2.The patient should not be on bed rest. She should do normal daily activities .Avoid lifting anything heavy.
3.She should take her progesterone supplements prescribed to her regularly.
4.She should take folic acid tablets given to her.
