Badin Lake Campground is a year-round, lakeside campground nestled in shaded pines and hardwoods along the shore of 5,000-acre Badin Lake in central North Carolina’s Uwharrie National Forest. It’s popular with campers who enjoy water access, fishing, and forest recreation.

Campsites & Facilities

35 non-electric sites for tents and RVs (no electrical hookups) with picnic tables, grills, fire rings, lantern posts, and tent pads.

Drinking water hydrants are scattered throughout the campground.

Central flush toilets and hot showers in both campground loops.

Sites may be single or double; some are first-come, first-served.

Check-in/out times and nightly fees apply (discounts for Interagency Pass holders).

Natural Setting & Weather

The campground is shaded and close to the lake shoreline, surrounded by forest.

Summers can be hot and humid; spring and fall are mild and pleasant.

Recreation & Activities

Swimming, boating, kayaking, fishing (bass, bream, crappie, catfish) in Badin Lake — canoe/kayak launch from sites or use a nearby boat ramp.

Hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding on ~40 miles of non-motorized trails.

Motorized OHV trails also nearby for off-road riding.

Hunting and wildlife viewing possible in season throughout the forest.

Tips

There’s no dump station.

Alcohol is prohibited, and pets must be leashed.

Campsites can fill up on busy weekends—reservations are recommended.
