Every year in Portugal thousands of square kilometers of beautiful nature, working farms and homes are reduced to ash by devastating wild fires. The last line of defence is 'Os bombeiros' - normal people who volunteer to put themselves in the face of danger to save lives and livelihoods. There is no full-time fire service outside of cities. The volunteers are brave farmers, factory workers and everyday folk that badly need access to more resources - equipment, training and staff. SubsoloFM is here to help support them.
