Who was Comrade Balwinder Singh Sandhu, shot by 2 motorcycle borne men in village Bhikhiwind in the border district of Tarn Taran on Friday morning just months after the government withdrew their security. Sandhu and 3 members of his family were awarded Shaurya Chakras in 1993 for their incredible armed fightback against the worst phase of militancy in Punjab in early ‘90s.
