Описание: Manic Street Preachers (often referred to as The Manics) is a Welsh alternative rock band, formed in 1986. By the late 90s, the band was known as one of the most important Britpop groups in Britain. They gained fame as a quartet, but were forced to continue as a trio in 1995 after the disappearance of band member Richey James Edwards. The band gained a notorious reputation in the early 90s for their combination of provocative androgynous glam punk and left-wing intellectual lyrics about "culture, alienation, boredom and despair", which earned the group a cult status. After Edwards' disappearance, they switched to a calmer image and broader musical style, with which they still broke through in the British mainstream.
