Long before she was the first Asian American woman appointed to serve on the federal bench in Los Angeles, Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Jacqueline Nguyen understood hard work. As a child, when her family had to flee their idyllic life in Vietnam, she became an integral part of building her family’s future in California.
