Healthy dams and wetlands can increase on-farm productivity, biodiversity, livestock health and water security. When properly managed, they can also store carbon from our atmosphere, known as teal carbon.
This webinar brought together experts and landcarers to explore why you should give a damn about your farm dams. Martino Malerba from RMIT’s Centre for Nature Positive Solutions shared the many benefits of healthy dams. Jen Smith will share her experience restoring wetlands on her sheep and Angus cattle farm at Tambo Crossing and Clifton Creek. Lisa McIntyre for Panyabar Landcare Group shared practical management steps you can take to ensure healthy water is available for livestock, native plants and wildlife on your farm.
Complementing our Carbon Farming Outreach Program, this is a part of a series of webinars designed to look deeper at carbon farming and answer your questions. The Carbon Farming Outreach Program is running events until the end of March 2026.
