At Functional Yarns, the Combing process plays a key role in upgrading fiber quality—especially for premium yarns made from organic cotton, hemp, and silk.
In this stage, fibers that have already been carded are fed into a combing machine, which removes short fibers, neps, and impurities. The machine aligns the remaining long fibers in parallel, improving fiber uniformity and enhancing the yarn’s strength, smoothness, and luster.
