Episode 1- Compaq Portable Part 1

This is Episode 1, I acquire a dead Compaq Portable computer.

This is also part 1 of the story.

I was hoping for an easy repair, but this one took me a bit longer.

As this is the first video I recorded, I started to think this computer was a bad choice to do a first video. But, I didn't know that when I started.

In this episode, I do a basic review of the purchase, and try to diagnose why it is dead. It takes a while, but I get it going.

In part 2, I have to do a keyboard repair, CRT adjustment, and then I get to play with it a bit.

As for the Double Nibble Computers name, which just came to me one day, it just a fun play on techno words.

There are 8 bits in a byte. Half a byte, 4 bits, is a nibble. So, two nibbles are a byte.
