On January 31st, 2026, (12-3) Lansing Waverly Warriors went against (11-4) Detroit Cass Tech Technicians in the Downtown Showdown at Cass Technical High School. Detroit Cass Tech defeated Lansing Waverly 70-67 Final.
For the Technicians, they are snapped a two game losing streak and had a huge win without their teammate, Cass Tech Guard Stevie Hall. Detroit Cass Tech Guard Ransom Thomas led his team in points with over 20 points in this game. Also, Cass Tech Guard Sebastian Thrower had over six points & led his team in assists and Small Forward Jacob Figaro had over 8 points against the Warriors.
For the Warriors, their seven game winning streak came to an end in a close game. Lansing Waverly Warriors Shooting Guard Cayden Ali scored over 18 points & three assists and Warriors Small Forward Derek Thomas scored over 20 points and two assists against the Technicians.
On February 3rd, Detroit Cass Tech Technicians will face Detroit Frederick Douglass Hurricanes.On February 6th, Lansing Waverly Warriors will face East Lansing Trojans.
