#StefaniaKaprovska, a resident of the #Zaporizhzhia region, first lost her home in 1947, when she fell victim to #Soviet deportations. And the second time – in 2023, during the #war between #Russia and #Ukraine. Stefania Kaprovska is 96 years old. #WorldWar2 broke out when she was young.
The #Soviets arrested her when she was 20 – for distributing anti-Soviet leaflets. For almost ten years, Stefania, with other prisoners, built a railroad through the taiga in exile from #Tulun to #Bratsk. After being released from the gulag, she returned to Ukraine. She lived with her husband in #Orechovo in the Zaporizhzhia region.
But the war came to her home again. The retired woman had to flee from #Russian shelling. The house that Stefania built with her husband is in ruins. The family lived here happily for 50 years until the arrival of the #Russianarmy.
