Описание: Why Torino? They’re one of the absolute most interesting teams in the world. Torino were the innovators before innovation existed, one of the oldest teams in Italy, and were the dominant force either side of world war two.

They were the first team to do the cup and league double in Italy, but this isn’t as interesting as the five consecutive titles they won in the 1940s. In 1947, every Italian national team outfielder played for Torino, with a goalkeeper from Juventus. They refused to play the classic Italian catenaccio, instead played fast flowing, high press football, well before that was popular.

Their dominance ended in horrific circumstances in 1949. The plane that was carrying the clubs entire first team, reserves and coaching staff crashed approaching Turin. The club never recovered. They would win one more title in the 1970’s, but since 2013, they’ve never finished higher than 7th, or lower than 16th.

History lesson over. We’re going to be managing Torino as realistically as we can, and over the next three episodes, take a mid table team, give them an identity, and try to bring back the era of Il Grande Torino. We’ll try to make a defensively strong side with believable transfers, we’ll let our best players go if the bids make sense, and be playing with in game events on high.
