Because right now, in my view, the state is in real trouble — corruption, unemployment, shrinking investment, political violence that doesn't get nearly enough national attention. Something went wrong somewhere, and I wanted to figure out where.
This video traces that whole arc. Colonial Bengal, the communist decades, the shift to Mamata Banerjee, the controversies that followed. I'm not pretending to have the final word on any of it — but I do have a perspective, and I'll give it to you straight.
