Russia may agree to use $300 billion in frozen assets for rebuilding Ukraine as part of a possible war settlement, according to sources. Moscow, however, wants part of the funds to be spent on Russian-controlled territories. Talks between Russia and the U.S. recently took place in Saudi Arabia, but discussions are still in early stages. The World Bank estimates Ukraine’s reconstruction costs at $486 billion. Russia's frozen assets mainly include European and U.S. bonds, with 159 billion euros held by Belgium’s Euroclear Bank. The West is debating the legality of using these funds, while Russia warns it could harm global financial trust. The EU and G7 insist Russia must pay for war damages before any asset release.
