A simple and short video on how I saved hundreds of dollars replacing the front lower ball joints in my 100 series Toyota Land Cruiser.

The Basics:

With my 100 series Land Cruiser crossing the 200k mile mark, more and more parts need to be replaced.

The Problem:

Lately i hear squeaking and creeking from the front suspension. It is particularly noisy after water crossings. I've tries pressure washing all the front suspension components to no avail. Spraying WD40 on the lower bacll joint only fixes the squeaking for a short amount of time.

Also, Toyota does not sell just the ball joint alone, only the complete control arm which costs about $400 each.

Affected:

98-07 Toyota Land Cruiser/ Lexus LX470

Solution:

Suck it up and change out the ball joints. I was able to find OEM quality replacements for about $35 each.
