In this video, I talk about the general process involved in prosecuting a patent application (that is, arguing with the patent examiner as to why you should be granted a patent).
As a pro se inventor (that is, an inventor pursuing a patent without a patent attorney), you are at a heavy disadvantage on the legal front. But the game isn't completely stacked against you:
the examiner is encouraged to give you assistance and pointers,
you can argue from a technical perspective much better than an attorney would, and
you can learn as you go along.
