To the best of my knowledge, there's no improvement to Night Sight between the Pixel 3a and the 4a with 5G. At the same time, Google poured a ton of resources into upgrading the phone's camera and boy did it pay off. The 4a with 5G features a new ultrawide camera (also available in the Pixel 5 albeit with more megapixels), multiple stabilization settings, and improved tech specs across the board.

With all this nice stuff said, though, is there an opportunity for improvement? Of course there is. While both Google Night Sight and Astrophotography modes are impressive there's a definite lack of control that makes using them frustrating to use.
