This is more than humanitarian assistance. It is an investment in stability, dignity, and the future of young people returning to their homeland. Sustainable return requires long-term support and collective commitment.

Burundi is also host over 90,000 refugees who have escaped conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) in December 2025 to January 2025 alone.

The scale of the challenge Burundi is facing requires not only humanitarian assistance for refugees and returnees, but an investment in stability, dignity, and the future of refugees and young people returning to their homeland.
