Let's Challenge! Phantasy Star 4 Gryz Solo [99] Profound Darkness

Описание: Well I had to skip Dark Force 3 completely (and technically DF2 as well) due to crashing but a massively-over-leveled 71 Gryz had no problem stomping around Rykros when I warped him directly there. However, he had a lot of trouble beating the final boss. (Sa Lews and De Vars aren't shown in video for this run because there was no challenge and nothing to see but Gryz just walking all over them.)

First off, before doing anything else, I went into The Edge as soon as it opened to get a Defeat-Axe from a Chaos Bringer. The attack animation is, unfortunately, broken with BNC's party select hack (probably an unintended consequence of making sure the Shotgun/Ceramic Axe work right) but stats-wise it's still the best weapon for Gryz. Then I began the long task of grinding cash for the gallons of Sol-Dews our furry friend would need. The merchant's shop was technically still locked but I could use walk through walls to enter it anyway.

Once I had about a dozen Sol-Dews I began trying to kill the final boss. Long story short, Gryz had to grind...all the way to 93 for precious hit points and mental. He needed as much of a health buffer for the first form as possible (Shadow Breath) and mental for the third form (Evil Eye). He could probably clear this battle at a lower level but it would be tediously-slow.

After many losses I settled on playing the first form risky. Sol-Dews were precious and limited so as long as I could survive a Ray Breath any deaths due to Shadow Breath would just be eaten and I'd restart. That way I'd save as many Sol-Dews as possible for the third form and hopefully get to the less dangerous second phase sooner. Once I got to phase 2 the Mahlay Shield's Deban effect would cut down physical damage and Gryz was assured several attacks per Sol-Dew. Then Gryz had to survive form 3's Evil Eye attack which he already had a poor track record of waking up from - those few times he made it that far in the battle.
