Smith warns Trump that Alberta "could sell oil elsewhere" after US trade deficit claim

Описание: While speaking during a panel discussion hosted by the Calgary Chamber of Commerce, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith was asked a question on President Donald Trump’s claim that the United States must eliminate the trade deficit with Canada, given the majority of that deficit is in oil and gas.

“It’s a little bit cheeky, but I have told the secretary I could always sell 2 million barrels of oil to someone else other than the United States, if they would like us to, because that’s essentially the trade deficit.”

“That would solve the trade deficit, because that’s the point, is that they have a deficit for all the things they need, whether it’s oil and gas, critical minerals, uranium, potash.”
