Welcome to Shooter’s Inc and The Outdoors! After producing videos mainly about International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) competitive shooting and IPSC training, I have decided to branch out a little and expand my video topics to other outdoor activities such as hunting, hot tenting, reviewing of camping / survival and hunting gear and many more related outdoor topics. This is my inaugural Shooter’s Inc and The Outdoors video. I hope you find this first video and the other videos that will follow over time, informative, interesting and entertaining.
In this video, I’ll be providing an overview of my brand new Winnerwell Nomad wood burning stove. I’m conducting the initial burn of my stove in this video as part of the break-in process of the stove. As well, I will showcase a few of the optional accessories that I’ve decided to get for my Nomad stove. The stove is available in three sizes: small, medium and large. Depending on the size of tent and your specific needs for the stove, there is an appropriate size for you to choose from the Winnerwell lineup of wood burning stoves: Woodlander and Nomad. I have the large Nomad model as I will be using in a Otter Vortex Thermal Pro Resort Hub ice fishing tent which is quite large. I plan on using the Otter Pro Resort tent and the Winnerwell Nomad stove while hunting, scouting and simply for camping during the fall and winter months. I’ll discuss the Otter Vortex Thermal Pro Resort Hub tent in a follow-on video where I will review my installation of a flashing kit (stove jack) in the Otter Vortex Pro Resort tent for use with the Winnerwell Nomad stove.
If you are from Canada and you are interested in purchasing a Winnerwell stove, here are a few links to some retailers that I have dealt with. All have provide prompt shipping and good customer service:
The Canadian Preparedness: https://canadianpreparedness.ca
Citizen Canvas: https://citizencanvas.ca
Coolers.ca: https://coolers.ca/contact
This is my first portable wood burning stove. Therefore, I still have plenty to learn about their use. I’m not an expert on wood stoves but I have done my research and I can point to others, YouTube Channels, that have provide me with good information and food for thought as I was looking for a stove. Feeling free to ask questions and to leave comments. I look forward to them all. Thanks and enjoy the outdoors.
