Lowell George wrote Willin', one of the finest trucking songs known to humankind, while he was still playing with Frank Zappa. Zappa told him he ought to form a band and go out on his own, so Lowell did! Was it a diss, or a compliment? We couldn't possibly say.
This song was first recorded by Seatrain in 1970. And, of course, Little Feat also cut the tune a couple of times, but our favorite version is Linda Ronstadt live in 1976. Look it up - it's great. But listen to ours first!
