The University of Houston’s Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts invited pioneering Land artist Alan Sonfist to work with students and faculty across college departments to create a series of paintings and works on paper. Collectively titled, Earth of Houston, these new pieces use student-gathered soil samples from 11 unique ares in Houston as raw material.
Earth of Houston, works on paper, is on view at Blaffer Arts museum December 8, 2022 through January 20, 2023.
