Описание: In a world where time is considered a precious commodity, people generally pay very little attention to the subtleties in their daily commutes. Everything seems to move so fast since productivity and efficiency is the prime goal. In his talk, Dylan Shumway takes a pause in time to appreciate and shed more light on the small moments and reveal how impactful they can be in the grand scheme of things. This past February we had our first ever speaker pitch competition, where we reached out to the Wesleyan campus looking for a student speaker. After a preliminary round, three finalists were chosen, who each prepared a full TEDx talk. Each brought their own flavor and unique style, but we are truly excited for this next talk and speaker, Dylan Shumway. Dylan is a Junior here at Wesleyan studying a mix of Music, Neuroscience, and Design. Outside of classes, he spends his time working with tech support, singing acapella, and developing video games. Despite his varied academic and extra curricular interests, his talk actually developed from something much more simple - the day to day interactions with friends, those that are often even overlooked or under-appreciated. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
