Active site of human Uracil-DNA Glycosylase in VMD.

Colour key:
Yellow = DNA
Orange = Uracil
Green = Polar
Red = Acidic (negatively charged)
Blue = Basic (positively charged)
White = Uncharged
Take note of the arginine residue (mutant used for more stable crystal) displacing the uracil from its regular base-stacking position within the DNA helix, the deep active site pocket which captures the uracil, and the charged/polar side-chains which mediate DNA-protein complex stability.
Unfortunately, active site amino acids aren't shown well in the surf representation, if asked I could post another video with them highlighted.
