Описание: Heels & Souls is the non-profit event series, reissue label and DJ duo of Ben Croft and Patrick Forrester. Running since 2015, to date they've raised over £50k for different charities through parties in London, have DJ'd around the world under the Heels & Souls moniker, and relicensed several excellent 12's and LP's for their essential label. The pair recently announced a new monthly residency on Rinse FM, and are currently in the midst of a mini-tour in South America & South East Asia.

On this episode, Ben & Pat share some of their favourite UK street soul records. For those who don't know the genre, it's defined by its raw, minimal, hip-hop inspired drum-machine rhythms, reggae-influenced bass, and ‘80s synth riffs topped with sweet, soaring vocals. Born from the clubs, blues parties, and pirate radio of London, Manchester, Birmingham and beyond in the late 80s and early 90s, it's a foundational sound for them both that's often criminally under-represented in the story of UK music culture. Expect a healthy dose of low-end frequencies, off-kilter vocals and rough n ready production that hits in all the right places, plus some forthcoming material from their label!
