This 110 km journey takes us from the tin mining town of Waratah (640m) and descends 330m through rainforest to Luina where the road crosses the Whyte River, from there it is another 20 km of winding road to the Savage River iron ore mine. From this point the road roughly follows the Whyte river to Corinna where the Pieman River is crossed by barge. After another 50 km and passing close to Mount Heemskirk (751m) the former silver & lead mining town of Zeehan is reached. Once known as the Silver City its population peaked at 10 000 and boasted 20 hotels in 1910. chris raine video.
