Bangladesh Hindu Rights Defender Fined ₹2 Lakh in India | Rabindra Ghosh Appeals for Help | HSF

Описание: For more than 30 years, Rabindra Ghosh has been a fearless voice for Hindu and minority rights in Bangladesh.

He is the President of Bangladesh Minority Watch and also a Supreme Court lawyer in Bangladesh, who has spent decades documenting atrocities against minorities and raising his voice for justice at national and international platforms.

After the political turmoil and regime change in Bangladesh in August 2024, the situation for minorities became extremely uncertain. Due to threats to his safety, Rabindra Ghosh and his wife Smt. Krishna Ghosh came to India in December 2024 on a medical visa for treatment.

Fearing attacks and persecution if they returned immediately, they remained in India.

However, due to visa overstay complications, both of them were fined ₹2 lakh (₹1 lakh each) by authorities.

Rabindra Ghosh recently travelled from AIIMS Kalyani to Delhi to meet authorities and request support. At this stage of life, after years of public service, he does not have the financial capacity to pay such a penalty.

Today, a man who spent his life defending the rights of vulnerable communities is himself facing a difficult moment.

He has now approached Hindu Samman Foundation (HSF) for help.

HSF is making a humble appeal to the Sanatani community worldwide to come forward and support Rabindra Ghosh.

We are trying to raise ₹2.5–3 lakh, which will help him:

• Pay the ₹2 lakh penalty
• Cover basic expenses
• Safely return to Dhaka, Bangladesh

At this moment, Rabindra Ghosh has very limited resources left and urgently needs society’s support.

A person who stood for minorities for decades should not be left alone during his time of need.
