On your flight, you will be given a yellow Incoming Passenger Card. Fill it out, declare any restricted or prohibited items, and sign it. This card is a legal document confirming your identity and recording your entry into Australia. If you are only transiting without passing through passport control, you don’t need to complete the card. For those unable to fill it in on board, dedicated counters are available at the airport to do it.

0:24 - Arrival/ Smart gate/ Immigration process
After landing, follow the signs to Baggage Claim / Way Out. Staff will direct you to the kiosks, where your passport is scanned, you’ll answer a few questions and your photo will be taken. There are many kiosks available on the way to the immigration border control area.

If successful, a ticket will be issued, hold on to it. proceed to the SmartGate and complete the facial recognition scan to exit the immigration control area. My husband couldn’t get through the first kiosk and was sent to the manual processing counter, which took around 15 minutes including the wait.

Keep the ticket and hand it together with the incoming passenger card to the Australian border force officer.

Next, proceed to baggage reclaim. Free trolleys are available, and detector dogs may be present to check luggage.

1:11 - Biosecurity/ Customs
Before proceeding to the Biosecurity area, please dispose of any prohibited items, such as in-flight food or fresh produce, in the designated bins.

use the green lane if you have nothing to declare, or the red lane if you are declaring goods. If you answered "Yes" to any questions on your Incoming Passenger Card, a customs officer may ask you questions and inspect the declared items.

Hand your Incoming Passenger Card and the ePassport kiosk ticket to the Australian border force officer, who will verify your details and make an assessment. my husband and I were directed to another green exit lane, while a solo traveler was sent to the red lane.

1:47 - Arrivals Hall
you will arrive in the Arrivals Hall.

At the Terminal 2 Arrivals Hall, head right to the designated Uber pickup zone, while taxis are available on the left.

2:39 - Uber Ride
The airport is about 22 km from the city. A taxi or Uber takes around 25 minutes and costs from AUD 65, while the SkyBus takes about 23 minutes at AUD 24.60.
