Calgary's C-Trains came to a grinding halt on Saturday, August 26, 2023 when an SUV collided with a Red Line train at approximately 3:30PM. Seen here is the aftermath of the accident.
While the red SUV sustained significant damage to its front, its driver and two passengers did not appear to be injured. Meanwhile, the lead C-Train car (a 2016 Siemens S200 numbered 2405) that took the brunt of the impact showed little visible damage, apart from a dent in its coupler. The train's driver was understandably shaken by the accident, but did not appear to be injured. The crash resulted in a closure of the 7th Avenue C-Train corridor while crews investigated the cause of the accident and cleaned up all debris.
