Helio LX Pressure Shower in the Wild plus Care Tips

Описание: This is the first time that we've heated the water inside the tank of the Helio LX Pressure Shower. It worked great! After 6 hours the water temperature was an oh so wonderful 97 degrees F.

In our previous review video of the shower, we mentioned that there are two ways to heat the water. One way is to heat the water externally then pour it in. This is what we have always done before.
A second way is to heat the water inside the shower itself. The tank will hold up to 5.8 gallons (22 liters) of water. We’ve learned that the pressure lasts longer when the tank isn’t filled all the way. This means there is less water to heat.

When doing this test, we’re camping in Colorado. Last night’s low temperature was 43 degrees F, and the day’s high temperature is 84 degrees F.

We place the shower tank in the sun and pour about 4 gallons of water into the tank at 10:40 am. To see if the dark tank itself effects the water temperature, a WaterBrick with 3.5 gallons of water is also placed in the sun. Another WaterBrick with 3.5 gallons of water is placed in the shade (under the picnic table).

Six hours later – here are the measured water temperatures…
• Helio LX Shower in the sun: 97.2 degrees F
• WaterBrick in the sun: 96.4 degrees F
• WaterBrick in the shade: 81 degrees F

Some of the negative reviews of this shower on Amazon have prompted us to want to share information on some things that may help the Helio work best and last a good long time.
Tips to Care for the Helio Pressure Shower
When in use, the top plug on the foot pump should be open, and the bottom (drain) plug closed.
When not in use, both the top and the bottom plugs on the foot pump should be open.
Keep the pump out of the sand, dirt, mud as much as possible. This will help the pump last longer
Don’t carry it by the handles when it is full of water – 48 pounds is a lot of weight to put on the handles. When full of water, you can wrap your arms around/under the tank to carry it, or fill it after it is in the location you will be showering.
To drain the water from the hose, hold the sprayer high and press the trigger to open the valve so it will drain.
To dry the tank, unscrew the top and hang it upside down. If there is still water inside when it's time to store it, because of the wide-mouth opening, the inside can be towel dried.
