By 2027, migration from SAP’s older R/3 ECC systems to S/4HANA will need to be complete but so far the move is slow.

Alarmingly, the Americas’ SAP Users’s Group reports that only 16 percent of SAP users are live on S/4HANA and even worse the German users’ group only reports 12 percent of users live on the platform.

These two groups represent the largest SAP user groups and paint an alarming picture for companies who need to migrate.

SAP really wants to get everybody into the new S/4HANA platform. Some customers will dig their heels in and won’t move but they will have to buy extended support from SAP which can become costly to the business. It’s better to invest that cost upfront to move to a newer infrastructure,” explains sales engineer at SUSE, Brain Petch.
