Use: Homes, offices
Protection: Overload & short circuit
Current rating: Up to ~100 A
Example: Lights, sockets
Most common in residential buildings

MCCB – Molded Case Circuit Breaker
Use: Industrial & commercial panels
Protection: Overload & short circuit
Current rating: Up to ~2500 A
Feature: Adjustable trip settings
Used for heavy loads (motors, panels)


RCCB / ELCB – Residual Current Circuit Breaker
Use: Shock protection
Protection: Earth leakage only
Current rating: 30 mA, 100 mA, 300 mA
Does NOT protect against overload or short circuit
Always used with MCB/MCCB

Note - MCB - used in Home - for (Overload + Short circuit)
MCCB - Industry - for (Overload + Short circuit)
RCCB - Safety - Earth leakage
