Here are 5 Common Topspin Forehand Mistakes (and how to fix them)
•
1. Stopping racket at/just after contact - Keep the racket going and finish with the bottom of the racket visible to the opponent over your shoulder
2. Taking the racket down on the backswing - Keep the non-hitting hand on the racket and raise the racket up slightly during the take back
3. Waiting for the ball to bounce to begin the take back - Begin the take back as soon as you see the ball come off your opponent’s racket
4. On edge racket at the bottom of the swing leading to an open racket at contact - try closing the face of your racket before contact so your racket faces forward at contact
5. Dropping the non-hitting hand down during contact - turn with both hands on the racket, then wave to the opponent at contact, then catch the racket over your shoulder
