The Mazda6e is Mazda’s 2nd EV, following their first; the MX-30. Chinese cars and EVs especially have been seemingly taking over, with Chinese brands like MG & BYD or European brands for example with the likes of Volvo and MINI using Chinese platforms.

For the 6e, Japanese brand Mazda has teamed up with Chinese car company; Changan, basing it on the Deepal L07 saloon.

Mazda are proud to call the 6e a Mazda, it is clear the exterior and interior design has been well thought out and sticks to the brand’s unique style, rather than just having a simple badge swap and small changes!

2 powertrains are available, a Standard Range model and a Long Range model, I tested out the Long Range equipped with an 80kWh NMC battery with a 343 mile WLTP range, whereas the standard 68.8kWh LFP battery provides a 297 mile WLTP range.

Being based on a 400V architecture, charging figures aren’t the most impressive, however most people (myself included) would mostly charge their EV at home and save up to 10 fold on electricity. A public fast charge from 10-80% charge can be done on the SR in 22 minutes and on the LR in 47 minutes.

Pricing and UK specifications are yet to be confirmed, but the 6e is due to arrive Spring / Summer 2026 and will likely start from around £40,000.

European spec car feature 2 trims; Takumi & Takumi +, likely to be the same as what we will receive, with final details to be confirmed. The 6e is packed with features as standard, however the + model added a sunroof blind and the ‘Caramel’ interior.
