6 essential ways you can do osteopathy on yourself:
1) Presencing: Feeling sensation in the feet, legs, pelvis and hands initiates circulation to the area of attention and induces a parasympathetic response.
2) Posture: Caved or slumped postures are the neurological equivalent of freeze or shut down. Conversely, sitting or standing straight with your chest out can reverse the fear/stress response.
3) Tongue Position: The top of the tongue should press against the roof of the mouth, resting with full contact on the palate. This soothes the nervous system.
4) Breath: Deep breaths attend to kidney and adrenal areas, and initiates a parasympathetic state.
5) Hydration: Hydration is essential to circulation, detoxing and healing.
