Changshu Wu is a Taihu Wu variety spoken in Changshu, Jiangsu, China. The Taihu Wu languages are spoken in much of the southern part of the province of Jiangsu, including Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou, the southern part of Nantong, Jingjiang, and Danyang. The exact status of Changshu Wu is unclear; however, it is thought to be one of the more endangered varieties of the Taihu Wu family.

A note from Ruoyang, who submitted this video: "Changshu Wu, or the Changshu dialect, is a northern Wu dialect. It’s mutually intelligble with other northern Wu dialects such as Shanghai Wu/Shanghainese and Suzhou Wu, but not Mandarin or other dialect groups. Its exact status is unclear, but is likely vulnerable if not definitely endangered, as the younger generation is shifting to Mandarin, and intergenerational transmission in my family has basically stopped. The dialect is still used in everyday, domestic contexts in my family, especially in conversation with my grandmother, who can only speak this dialect."
